Farming in Puerto Rico (Patio Taller in Carolina, Finca Conciencia in Vieques, Humacao con Millo) - June 2017

I participated in a Caribbean Beekeeping immersion program for 2 weeks @ Finca Conciencia. We learned about and how to care for Africanized Bees and they’re connection to people from the African diaspora.

My friend Millo , who I met and instantly connected to while doing the beekeeping program, took me to the family-owned farm they worked at in Humacao and we got to farm together, and make delicous drinks and food with what the land gifted us. Including coconut milk and mango juice. Thank you Millo <3

Farm School NYC - City Wide Certificate Program

My first seed growing! This was the project we had to carry out in my Propagation class at Farm School NYC. The seeds were a bit old so it took patience and innovation! I created a greenhouse type environment by putting them into a plastic grocery bag with a little water and then close to my apartment heater for warmth.

Carpentry and Intro to Building class @ Farm School NYC is taught my the incredible Sandy Nurse and during our class we got to build garden beds for New Roots Farm in the South Bronx.
